In the 10th minute, Marquinhos de Queirós made a precise shot to the right of Lauro Barral. Navegantes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After having played for 14 minutes, Luisinho Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Samambaia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisinho Ferraz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Luisinho Ferraz notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Navegantes's Lauro Barral. Lauro Barral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Orlando Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Fausto Neto hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Aníbal de Lima's late challenge caught a Samambaia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aníbal de Lima helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Navegantes's Aníbal de Lima got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Samambaia's Marquinhos de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Navegantes's zone, Silvinho Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro Barral came out of the goal and Silvinho Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Davi Meireles took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Léo Siqueira. Léo Siqueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Orlando Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Davi Meireles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Léo Siqueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lauro Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvinho Gomes in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisinho Ferraz to make the kick off. When Samambaia's Luisinho Ferraz in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Navegantes's Lauro Barral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Navegantes from getting a goal against them. Lauro Barral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisinho Ferraz's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. A hard shot 91 in the game by Luisinho Ferraz from a close distance when the talented Lauro Barral managed to make a qualified save. Navegantes's players were relieved. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
