The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Murillo Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davi Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Navegantes's Lauro Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Paiva in the 27th minute of play. Jonas Paiva took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lauro Barral. Lauro Barral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Davi Meireles's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Murillo Simões skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Natã Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Narciso de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Negri got free with Murillo Simões in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonas Paiva struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Lauro Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MotoSerra FC. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonas Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Luís Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the MotoSerra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. Guto do Vale's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lauro Barral firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Navegantes's Lauro Barral got control of the ball when Luís Albuquerque tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 59 minutes, Luís Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edmílson Leme took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Murillo Simões. MotoSerra FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Navegantes's Davi Meireles in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MotoSerra FC's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Davi Meireles in the 77th managed to get into a good position. Orlando Negri might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Murillo Simões. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orlando Negri ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Davi Meireles in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murillo Simões saved MotoSerra FC from getting behind. Luís Albuquerque's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Lauro Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of MotoSerra FC booed when Navegantes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Guilherme Rosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonas Paiva hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
