UNITED BR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walmir Brodel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Walmir Brodel took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonatan Hafström to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Uvaia FC booed when UNITED BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luiz Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anísio Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Uvaia FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Luís Fabiano de Salles hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Ricardo de Salles sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anísio Pires skillfully saved the ball. Anísio Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Vaz in the 46th minute of play. Tadeu Furlan struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Jonatan Hafström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uvaia FC. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jeremias Rodrigues to make the kick off. If Walmir Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 62nd minute, Jeremias Rodrigues left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UNITED BR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 65 played minutes Uvaia FC got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Furlan. Walmir Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gilson Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Jonatan Hafström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Brodel in the 83rd minute of the match. After 86 played minutes Uvaia FC got a freekick which was hit by Serginho França. 96 minutes into the match, Uvaia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz Bezerra came free, but Anísio Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Uvaia FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while UNITED BR had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
