Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raí de Moraes in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernani Leme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eurico Meirelles's late challenge caught a invictus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eurico Meirelles helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dinei Maia got free with Sérgio Cearense in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Raí de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Cearense was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Dinei Maia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dinei Maia really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Raí de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernani Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Velasco in the 25th minute of the match. The invictus fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when invictus's Raí de Moraes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Claudinei Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Leme having to interfere. After having played for 44 minutes, Claudinei Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. invictus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Tróia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Baltazar de Carvalho made the kick off in the second half. Claudinei Tróia struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Ernani Leme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for invictus. Ernani Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raí de Moraes's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of invictus:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Siriji:s goal. Sérgio Cearense had in the 57thth minute some difficulties stopping Reinaldo Trigo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Guto Cordeiro took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Cearense. Sérgio Cearense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 62nd minute, Raí de Moraes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The invictus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. invictus's Raí de Moraes was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 65th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guto Cordeiro in the 69th minute of play forced invictus's goalkeeper Sérgio Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Siriji's players were relieved. Aníbal Velasco lost his temper 88 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After some careless play in the invictus defense, Baltazar de Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Cearense. The invictus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Cearense should have stopped the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
