Fabinho Terra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrianinho Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute of the match, Nestor de Alcântara got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fabinho Terra was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Adrianinho Monteiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabinho Terra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. CELESTE's Fabinho Terra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save CELESTE from getting a goal against them. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dragomir Borovinov couldn't finish the play. Rubinho Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conrado de Salles having to interfere.
