Arí de Salles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Fernando Duarte when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arí de Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Carlos Fernando Duarte made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Kléberson Valladares put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Álvaro Saraiva. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Arí de Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Profeta SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Arí de Salles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Fernando Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If André Luís Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the game, Arí de Salles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Carlos Fernando Duarte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Botafogo Capixaba FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when André Luís Vargas scored to the left of an out of position Carlos Fernando Duarte, making the score, 3-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kléberson Valladares made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Botafogo Capixaba FC's zone, Arí de Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Fernando Duarte came out of the goal and Arí de Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If André Luís Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Profeta SS's André Luís Vargas got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kléberson Valladares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Nicolas Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Profeta SS's Álvaro Saraiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Profeta SS from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Botafogo Capixaba FC's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Duarte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Fernando Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Luís Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Kléberson Valladares's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Álvaro Saraiva skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Nicolas Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Profeta SS were victorious despite being under pressure from Botafogo Capixaba FC for much of the match.
