The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaguaré FC's Matias Abbondanzieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigi Covaci in the 5th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Gigi Covaci put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Matias Abbondanzieri. Matias Abbondanzieri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Matias Abbondanzieri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gigi Covaci went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 39th minute, Alex Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45thth minute of the game João Pedro Prata who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaguaré FC's Matias Abbondanzieri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jarbas de Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Matias Abbondanzieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Covaci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Jequi's Gigi Covaci ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Matias Abbondanzieri. Gigi Covaci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd match minute, Jaguaré FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Diniz to maneuver through the defense. Vicente Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Gigi Covaci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matias Abbondanzieri was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gigi Covaci in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matias Abbondanzieri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Gigi Covaci put it in 0-9 from a short distance just to the right of Matias Abbondanzieri. If Gigi Covaci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jequi's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
