Dé Correia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 36 played minutes NOVORIZONTINO got a freekick which was hit by Tales Arruda. A collision led to NOVORIZONTINO getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Michel Britto hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, NOVORIZONTINO's goal looked a bit too open when Teo Afonso came free, but Dé Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michel Britto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Thunder Palmeiras's Irinel Codrea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dé Correia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Afonso in the 70th minute of play forced NOVORIZONTINO's goalkeeper Dé Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes, Michel Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NOVORIZONTINO and the Thunder Palmeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Irinel Codrea in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dé Correia saved NOVORIZONTINO from getting behind. The supporters of Thunder Palmeiras booed when NOVORIZONTINO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, João Augusto Dracena notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Thunder Palmeiras's Adriano Britto. Adriano Britto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Irinel Codrea in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal.
