Carlos Mattos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antônio Tepedino came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Mattos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. Antônio Tepedino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toninho Mangueira in the 19th minute. Antônio Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Mattos in the 21st minute of the match. Toninho Mangueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Antônio Tepedino made a huge save. Toninho Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Real Astoria FC booed when Fedegoso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulão Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Carlos Mattos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antônio Tepedino was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Toninho Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antônio Tepedino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Fedegoso FC defense, Carlos Mattos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antônio Tepedino. The Fedegoso FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antônio Tepedino should have stopped the shot. Antônio Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Mattos in the 71st minute of play. Betinho Dracena's late challenge caught a Fedegoso FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Betinho Dracena helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes Real Astoria FC got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Dracena. Enrique Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Gualter Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Mattos in the 82nd minute of play forced Fedegoso FC's goalkeeper Antônio Tepedino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute Carlos Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
