The supporters of Abertao booed when GMDuarte 82 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Abertao's goal looked a bit too open when Valérien Klopp came free, but Amílton Paes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Luisinho Vergílio threw the ball into play from the sideline. GMDuarte 82's Zé Carlos Costa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Luiz Fábio Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Paes having to interfere. GMDuarte 82 were furious when Antônio de Amaral was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee ignored Abertao's protests and gave Nelson Martins a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th minute, Nelson Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amílton Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Gaúcho in the 42nd minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Daniel Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre da Cunha in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th match minute, GMDuarte 82 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erivaldo Alvarenga to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, Alexandre da Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daniel Xavier. GMDuarte 82's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre da Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Vale in the 74th minute of play forced GMDuarte 82's goalkeeper Daniel Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fábio Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to GMDuarte 82 getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Amado Beliran hit a great ball. After 80 played minutes GMDuarte 82 got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Costa. 90 minutes into the match, Luiz Fábio Gaúcho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amílton Paes. Abertao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fábio Gaúcho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The Abertao fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. GMDuarte 82 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
