An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Paraibano in the 13th minute of play forced Ferraria EC's goalkeeper Evaristo Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo Varela made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Caio Machado sent off a good shot on target. Ferraria EC's Evaristo Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Ferraria EC from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, Ferraria EC's goalkeeper Evaristo Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduardo Vianna. In the 22nd match minute, Ferraria EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breno Proença to maneuver through the defense. When Fernando Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Desportivo Apollo XIII fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Paraibano couldn't finish the play. In the 31st match minute, Desportivo Apollo XIII was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Machado to maneuver through the defense. Víktor de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Pereira in the 32nd minute of the match. Breno Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Víktor de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Chiquinho Fantini fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 41 played minutes Ferraria EC got a freekick which was hit by Gerson Senna. Ferraria EC's Evaristo Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ferraria EC from getting a goal against them. Víktor de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giuseppe Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giuseppe Pereira to make the kick off. Evaristo Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Paraibano in the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eduardo Vianna in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evaristo Varela saved Ferraria EC from getting behind. A collision led to Ferraria EC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Sérgio Rosa hit a great ball. Eduardo Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Fernando Paraibano made a precise shot to the right of Evaristo Varela. Ferraria EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 68th minute Fernando Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Víktor de Souza made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Ivo Cordeiro sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Ferraria EC defense, Chiquinho Fantini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evaristo Varela. The Ferraria EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evaristo Varela should have stopped the shot. 78 minutes into the game, Ferraria EC's Ivo Cordeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Víktor de Souza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Desportivo Apollo XIII's Víktor de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Ramalho in the 81st minute of play. After 83 minutes of play, Ferraria EC's Ivo Cordeiro made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Víktor de Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! 95 minutes into the game, Breno Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ferraria EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Desportivo Apollo XIII the free kick. After 95 played minutes Ferraria EC got a freekick which was hit by Breno Proença. There was no doubt that Desportivo Apollo XIII were the better team. Desportivo Apollo XIII's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
