After 9 minutes of play, Desportivo Apollo XIII's Eduardo Vianna made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Danilo Mandrak was left in no man's land by his defense there! Danilo Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caio Machado in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, Maranhão 18 FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Faria to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute Diguinho Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víktor de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Víktor de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruy Alagoano in the 31st minute of the match. Desportivo Apollo XIII's Fernando Paraibano got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Maranhão 18 FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ruy Alagoano hit a great ball. Maranhão 18 FC's Danilo Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Paraibano in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The tension between the Maranhão 18 FC and the Desportivo Apollo XIII players grew even worse after the yellow card. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Danilo Mandrak successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 63rd minute, Natanael Cosme made a precise shot to the right of Víktor de Souza. Desportivo Apollo XIII's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. When Natanael Cosme came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Maranhão 18 FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Natanael Cosme couldn't finish the play. Maranhão 18 FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Chiquinho Fantini scored to the left of an out of position Danilo Mandrak, making the score, 1-4. Fernando Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Víktor de Souza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ruy Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The Desportivo Apollo XIII players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
