Kiko Duarte hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When Zé Prestes came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Maranhão 18 FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Prestes couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diguinho Barros got free with Ronaldo Bezerra in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fla Merda FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
