After 18 minutes Desportivo Apollo XIII's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Thiago de Sousa who took care of the corner kick. Carlos Moraes thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Víktor de Souza, a very annoying self made goal in the 18th minute which led to 0-1. In the 22nd match minute, DC Olina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Dantas to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. José Augusto Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to DC Olina getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Maurinho Medeiros hit a great ball. When Caio Machado fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desportivo Apollo XIII's protests and gave Caio Machado a yellow card for diving instead. Caio Machado hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Desportivo Apollo XIII's goal looked a bit too open when Aloísio da Rocha came free, but Víktor de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ruy Dantas sped through Desportivo Apollo XIII's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Víktor de Souza. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernando Paraibano was the one to do the kick off. Perivaldo de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 57th match minute, Desportivo Apollo XIII was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho Fantini to maneuver through the defense. José Augusto Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Paraibano in the 59th minute of play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Freire's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Víktor de Souza firmly grabbed it by the left post. 72 minutes into the game, Sydney Chaves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Víktor de Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aloísio da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víktor de Souza having to interfere. José Augusto Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Vianna in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, Desportivo Apollo XIII's Víktor de Souza got control of the ball when Sydney Chaves tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 86 minutes, Ruy Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DC Olina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruy Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sydney Chaves in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Víktor de Souza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Augusto Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Machado in the 92nd minute of play. Claudinho Pirani charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinho Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match was over DC Olina could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Desportivo Apollo XIII throughout the match.
