In the 10th match minute, Passos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Norberto Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Raúl Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Norberto Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Messias in the 21st minute of play. Doriva Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme de Amorim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Germano Barros when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Germano Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme de Amorim in the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Jailson Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Túlio Cearense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Raúl Paiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Norberto Messias struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Raúl Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Passos FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Guilherme de Amorim in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Germano Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raúl Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norberto Messias was the one to do the kick off. Túlio Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Paiva having to interfere. Raúl Paiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Túlio Cearense went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Luiz Guilherme de Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petrolina FC's Durvalino Maia got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Germano Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Passos FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Agnaldo Dantas hit a great ball. Doriva Tasso hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Luiz Guilherme de Amorim took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Germano Barros. Passos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Germano Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 70 played minutes Petrolina FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Guilherme de Amorim. The Passos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Germano Barros should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Petrolina FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Jailson Rodrigues hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, Passos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Maia came free, but Germano Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beto Pombal's late challenge caught a Passos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beto Pombal helped the player get up and apologised. After 84 played minutes Petrolina FC got a freekick which was hit by Beto Pombal. Raúl Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto Messias in the 85th minute of the match. Germano Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durvalino Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. A collision led to Passos FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Raí Gaúcho hit a great ball. After 90 minutes, Luiz Guilherme de Amorim made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Passos FC's Germano Barros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Passos FC's Jorginho Souza got a free kick in the 94th minute. Luiz Guilherme de Amorim, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Chants of Passos FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Petrolina FC had held the ball for most of the match.
