In the 14th minute Norberto Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norberto Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Geovânio Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Gildo Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes in the game, Túlio Cearense fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Geovânio Mendonça having to interfere. Chiniqua's Gildo Aguiar got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gildo Aguiar was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Passos FC got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo Dantas. Germano Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gildo Aguiar in the 54th minute of play. Germano Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo Aguiar in the 59th minute of the match. Geovânio Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raí Gaúcho hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gildo Aguiar in the 71st minute of play forced Passos FC's goalkeeper Germano Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Gildo Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute, Delfim Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Norberto Messias in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovânio Mendonça saved Chiniqua from getting behind. When the final whistle sounded Chiniqua left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Passos FC.
