In the 4th minute, Evandro Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raúl Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Pouso alegre's zone, Luiz Guilherme de Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evandro Pena came out of the goal and Luiz Guilherme de Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 11 minutes of play, Petrolina FC's César Motta made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evandro Pena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Evandro Meira's late challenge caught a Petrolina FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evandro Meira helped the player get up and apologised. Evandro Meira hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Luís Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Evandro Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raúl Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Meira in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Petrolina FC's Alberto Borges seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alberto Borges the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Petrolina FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alberto Borges had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Petrolina FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Raúl Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Pouso alegre getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Evandro Meira hit a great ball. Evandro Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durvalino Maia in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Durvalino Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mario Ramadhonna took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raúl Paiva. Raúl Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Raúl Paiva made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Mario Ramadhonna sent off a good shot on target. 53 minutes into the game, Téo de Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Petrolina FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pouso alegre the free kick. After a rather tough play, Petrolina FC's Téo de Brito got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Raúl Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evandro Meira's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Petrolina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Esam Al Ramzi came free, but Raúl Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esam Al Ramzi in the 61st minute of play forced Petrolina FC's goalkeeper Raúl Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 played minutes Petrolina FC got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Barreto. 64 minutes into the match, Petrolina FC's goalkeeper Raúl Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luizinho Santana. Raúl Paiva made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Evandro Meira sent off a good shot on target. Toninho Alagoano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raúl Paiva came out and tried to block the shot, but Toninho Alagoano slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 74th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evandro Meira got free with Raúl Paiva in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pouso alegre's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luizinho Santana in the 78th minute. The corner led Pouso alegre's Esam Al Ramzi to fire away a dangerous shot which Raúl Paiva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Durvalino Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Evandro Meira took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raúl Paiva. Raúl Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Petrolina FC's Raúl Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Petrolina FC from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Pouso alegre walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
