After a defensive mix-up in Clube de Regatas Flalengo's zone, Umberto Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amauri Xavier came out of the goal and Umberto Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Clube de Regatas Flalengo getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano de Sena hit a great ball. Marcus Diniz took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amauri Xavier. Amauri Xavier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Marcus Diniz put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Amauri Xavier. In the 47th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Peres to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Diniz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Clube de Regatas Flalengo's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Peres came free, but Amauri Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Diniz in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amauri Xavier saved Clube de Regatas Flalengo from getting behind. This resulted in a 0-6 score and a disappointed Amauri Xavier as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 64th minute, Goiás Esporte Clube's Umberto Peres ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amauri Xavier. Amauri Xavier yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Umberto Peres took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Amauri Xavier to make any attempt to save it. Marcus Diniz did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-9 to the left of a surprised Amauri Xavier 75 minutes into the match. A hard shot 80 in the game by Marcus Diniz from a close distance when the talented Amauri Xavier managed to make a qualified save. Clube de Regatas Flalengo's players were relieved. Marcus Diniz had several of the Clube de Regatas Flalengo's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 84 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-10 score and a disappointed Amauri Xavier as he didn't even see the shot coming. After some careless play in the Clube de Regatas Flalengo defense, Umberto Peres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amauri Xavier. The Clube de Regatas Flalengo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amauri Xavier should have stopped the shot. When the match was over Goiás Esporte Clube could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Clube de Regatas Flalengo throughout the match.
