In the 15th match minute, Brasília FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armandinho Luz to maneuver through the defense. When Wanderson Terra came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Brasília FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wanderson Terra couldn't finish the play. Narciso Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Sev Hortolândia's Jozef Madej got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 22 minutes, Jozef Madej mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sev Hortolândia and the Brasília FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute of the match José Maria Cavalcante sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vivaldo Vale skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Brasília FC's Laerte Ceresso got a free kick in the 24th minute. Vivaldo Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gil Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Sérgio Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 38thth minute of the game Enéas Almeida who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sev Hortolândia's Vivaldo Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Brasília FC's Gil Azevedo in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karol Swiderski made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gil Azevedo got free with Vivaldo Vale in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rui Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karol Swiderski in the 60th minute of the match. Zagloul Bolt, 66 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Laerte Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brasília FC's protests and gave Laerte Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes Brasília FC got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Ceresso. In the 69th minute, Brasília FC's Laerte Ceresso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Laerte Ceresso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Brasília FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Laerte Ceresso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 68 minutes into the game, one of Brasília FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jorge Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. Jorge Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Rui Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zagloul Bolt in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Brasília FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sev Hortolândia.
