The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Frank Camargo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulysses Barral was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. In the 10th match minute, Umbuzeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Lopes to maneuver through the defense. César Rossi charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed César Rossi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Jaguas FC got a freekick which was hit by César Rossi. In the 33rd minute, Hudson Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Frank Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, Jaguas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Dante came free, but Ulysses Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. César Rossi was shown his second yellow card after 40 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. César Rossi hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Álvaro Lima's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulysses Barral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Álvaro Lima got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 57th minute, Jeferson Nogueira made a precise shot to the right of Doni Ramalho. Umbuzeiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. André Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Umbuzeiro getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Tarcisio Azevedo hit a great ball. If Jeferson Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 74th minute, André Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th match minute, Jaguas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 79 minutes, Pedro Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umbuzeiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Vasconcelos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donato Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Doni Ramalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donato Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jaguas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Umbuzeiro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
