Arnaldo Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Rodrigo Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurício Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The STEAUA BUCALESTI fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when STEAUA BUCALESTI's Maurício Amorim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 28 minutes, Arnaldo Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STEAUA BUCALESTI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Vasconcelos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeu Linares hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Maurício Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodrigo Mendonça read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Maurício Amorim put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rodrigo Mendonça. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurício Amorim in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodrigo Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maurício Amorim to make the kick off. The Huge Tortoise FC's Rodrigo Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Vasconcelos in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute Arnaldo Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Maurício Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Gernando Guimarães had to leave the field with a concussion. Yerry Mina's late challenge caught a The Huge Tortoise FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yerry Mina helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th match minute, STEAUA BUCALESTI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yerry Mina to maneuver through the defense. After 60th play minutes Maurício Amorim shot 6-0, a short shot which went by Rodrigo Mendonça and just under the crossbar into goal. STEAUA BUCALESTI's Maurício Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Maurício Amorim notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of The Huge Tortoise FC's Rodrigo Mendonça. Rodrigo Mendonça was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnaldo Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigo Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Arnaldo Vasconcelos put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rodrigo Mendonça. The Huge Tortoise FC's Ulysses Custódio pulled a muscle in his back after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Dito Félix fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STEAUA BUCALESTI's protests and gave Dito Félix a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th match minute, STEAUA BUCALESTI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Félix to maneuver through the defense. After 97 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Huge Tortoise FC! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. STEAUA BUCALESTI had played much better football throughout.
