Spectators: 7482 (Terracing: 5613, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) GaloGordo FC's Pedro Luís Sena started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Pedro Paulo Catarinense reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eurico Alagoano. The goal made the score 1-0. If Dalmo Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute Pedro Luís Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute, Pedro Luís Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Paulo Catarinense in the 19th minute of play forced GaloGordo FC's goalkeeper Eurico Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, GaloGordo FC's Eurico Alagoano got control of the ball when Cristiano Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to S.E. Palmeiras getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Zé Braga hit a great ball. Dalmo Simões took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lauro Matos. S.E. Palmeiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Guimarães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.E. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GaloGordo FC the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Marquinhos Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, Pedro Luís Sena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lauro Matos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. GaloGordo FC were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after S.E. Palmeiras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dalmo Simões took the corner. Pedro Paulo Catarinense might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eurico Alagoano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Paulo Catarinense ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Luís Sena scored 1-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lauro Matos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lauro Matos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmo Simões's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. If Dalmo Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Simões in the 44th minute of play forced S.E. Palmeiras's goalkeeper Lauro Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Paulo Catarinense made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, João Paulo Abraão managed to get in a good position for a shot. GaloGordo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Abraão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauro Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marquinhos Guimarães got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to S.E. Palmeiras getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Marquinhos Guimarães hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in S.E. Palmeiras's zone, Dalmo Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro Matos came out of the goal and Dalmo Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lauro Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís Sena in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, S.E. Palmeiras's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dalmo Simões fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Lauro Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luís Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69thth minute of the game Pedro Luís Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E. Palmeiras's Lauro Matos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 91 minutes of play, S.E. Palmeiras's Cristiano Senna made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eurico Alagoano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Cristiano Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E. Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eurico Alagoano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
