Válter Reis scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdemar Capixaba during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 29 minutes of play, Real Juventude De Caxias's Romeu Paraense made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christian Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! Filipe Costa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Gustavo Fernandez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 45 minutes into the match, larritasuna's goal looked a bit too open when Romeu Paraense came free, but Christian Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as larritasuna's Luiz Paulo Cearense slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luiz Gustavo Fernandez. That made the score 2-2 after 46 minutes of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Jaime Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The throw-in from Frédson Ortiz in the 71st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by larritasuna's Walmir Passos. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Paulo Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd match minute, Real Juventude De Caxias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percy Paulista to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Costa in the 85th minute of play. Diogo de Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diogo de Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Diogo de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. If Abelardo Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Real Juventude De Caxias's Luiz Gustavo Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Costa in the 95th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the larritasuna players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
