The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Maria Mole mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chiapetta and the xeretinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th match minute, Chiapetta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maria Mole to maneuver through the defense. The referee ordered Samuel da Rocha off the ground. In the 42nd match minute, xeretinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Luís Machado made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Bruninho Santana sent off a good shot on target. Bruninho Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lenílson Rocha made a kick off. After 55 minutes of play, Chiapetta's Bruninho Santana made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Machado was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the match, xeretinha's goal looked a bit too open when Bruninho Santana came free, but Luís Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adriano Mineiro was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Dráusio Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. xeretinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráusio Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betinho Marinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Betinho Marinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenílson Rocha in the 66th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Bruninho Santana notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of xeretinha's Luís Machado. Luís Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Bruninho Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the game, Chiapetta's Anibal Tello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Machado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Dráusio Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Marinho having to interfere. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chiapetta's goalkeeper Betinho Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 83 minutes into the game, Chiapetta's Anibal Tello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Machado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. The supporters of xeretinha booed when Chiapetta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Lenílson Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. xeretinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chiapetta the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Tello in the 91st minute of play forced xeretinha's goalkeeper Luís Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Machado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruninho Santana went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Celsinho Mendonça was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 97 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of xeretinha:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chiapetta:s goal. In the 99th minute there was a penalty for Chiapetta. Eugênio Mattos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luís Machado. 6-1.
