The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Edgard Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Real Juventude De Caxias's Luiz Gustavo Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Motta in the 6th minute of play. Edgard Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diogo de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. When Pedrão Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Campos do Jordão fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Tasso couldn't finish the play. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Pedrão Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Real Juventude De Caxias's Luiz Gustavo Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Motta in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Pedrão Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Gustavo Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Campos do Jordão's Edgard Motta. But to his dismay, Edgard Motta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Sandro Dias charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandro Dias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th minute, Sandro Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adelino Ortiz hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Edgard Motta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Campos do Jordão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The Real Juventude De Caxias players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Campos do Jordão were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedrão Tasso to make the kick off. Luiz Gustavo Fernandez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandro Dias went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Edgard Motta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Luiz Gustavo Fernandez made a huge save. After 64 minutes, Diogo de Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Juventude De Caxias and the Campos do Jordão players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th minute, Diogo de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgard Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 69 played minutes Campos do Jordão got a freekick which was hit by Diego Dias. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Motta got free with Luiz Gustavo Fernandez in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Real Juventude De Caxias's Luiz Gustavo Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Tasso in the 77th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Motta got free with Luiz Gustavo Fernandez in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute, Pedrão Tasso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Campos do Jordão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Pedrão Tasso, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Pedrão Tasso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Campos do Jordão's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Juventude De Caxias the free kick. Campos do Jordão's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
