The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th minute, José Vítor Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osmar Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rei Pelle in the 11th minute of play. Osmar Toscano came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by S.C. Internacional's Osvaldo da Mata. But to his dismay, Osvaldo da Mata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Rei Pelle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Toscano having to interfere. Osvaldo da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bogumil Jarmulowicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Moraes in the 23rd minute of the match. Tracoa's Osmar Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rei Pelle in the 26th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rei Pelle in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osmar Toscano saved Tracoa from getting behind. Rei Pelle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Osmar Toscano having to make a save. In the 31st minute, Miguel Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute of the match Rei Pelle sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osmar Toscano skillfully saved the ball. If Osvaldo da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Osmar Toscano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Osvaldo da Mata went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Osvaldo da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rei Pelle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Osmar Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, one of Tracoa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tracoa. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Moraes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rei Pelle might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osmar Toscano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After some careless play in the Tracoa defense, Osvaldo da Mata kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osmar Toscano. The Tracoa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osmar Toscano should have stopped the shot. Thiago Félix charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thiago Félix the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hubert Pihl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Osmar Toscano made a huge save. Rei Pelle had several of the Tracoa's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 93 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-11 score and a disappointed Osmar Toscano as he didn't even see the shot coming. When the final whistle sounded S.C. Internacional left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Tracoa.
