Jeitosa EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulysses Albuquerque was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Jeitosa EC's Olavo Paraense got control of the ball when Luiz Guilherme Teixeira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ulysses Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Elder Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Jeitosa EC's zone, Gino Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo Paraense came out of the goal and Gino Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeitosa EC's Olavo Paraense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Jeitosa EC from getting a goal against them. If Luiz Guilherme Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amílton Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Elder Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulysses Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulysses Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Trigo having to interfere. After some careless play in the Vila Nova Futebol Clube defense, Ulysses Albuquerque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elder Trigo. The Vila Nova Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elder Trigo should have stopped the shot. Daniel Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patrick Moraes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 64th minute, Ulysses Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeitosa EC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Vila Nova Futebol Clube's much stronger midfield.
