After 47 played minutes Vila Nova Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Guilherme Teixeira.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gino Vinhas made a kick off. Deivid do Nascimento thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Waldir Garcia, a very annoying self made goal in the 52nd minute which led to 0-3. Elder Trigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomás Costa's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. The supporters of Recife Pe booed when Vila Nova Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Recife Pe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldir Garcia should have stopped the shot. When Recife Pe's Thomás Costa in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
