After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Cafu Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madruga's supporters rose to their feet, but Cafu Koehler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rômulo Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Real Madruga booed when Granjeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcinho Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cafu Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Róbson Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Róbson Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dida Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Dida Branco's late challenge caught a Real Madruga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dida Branco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, Antônio Carlos Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Madruga's Róbson Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Corrêa in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Real Madruga's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto Arantes came free, but Róbson Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dida Branco got free with Róbson Castro in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 69th play minutes Cafu Koehler shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Rômulo Silveira and just under the crossbar into goal. Ernani Novaes charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernani Novaes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ernani Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the game, Vitório da Mata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Madruga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Granjeiro FC the free kick. The supporters of Granjeiro FC booed when Real Madruga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitório da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcinho Goiano was shown his second yellow card after 80 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 80th match minute, Granjeiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcinho Goiano to maneuver through the defense. The Real Madruga fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Real Madruga's Cafu Koehler looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Real Madruga booed when Granjeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Real Madruga's Cafu Koehler broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Dedé Marques came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Real Madruga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedé Marques couldn't finish the play. Rômulo Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After 94 played minutes, Real Madruga's Oswaldo Ferraz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rômulo Silveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Madruga reached it. There was no doubt that Real Madruga were the better team. Real Madruga's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
