After a defensive mix-up in Everest Futebol Clube's zone, Ernani Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Germano came out of the goal and Ernani Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Granjeiro FC defense, Ramón Quintal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rômulo Silveira. The Granjeiro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rômulo Silveira should have stopped the shot. Dida Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Carlos Germano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everest Futebol Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Ernani Novaes scored to the left of an out of position Carlos Germano, making the score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Everest Futebol Clube's Célio Cearense got a free kick in the 25th minute. Dida Branco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Carlos Germano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dida Branco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Germano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rômulo Silveira came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Everest Futebol Clube's Ramón Quintal. But to his dismay, Ramón Quintal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Everest Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Carlos Germano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Granjeiro FC's Rômulo Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Quintal in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes in the game Zé Madureira did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Marcinho Goiano. A collision led to Everest Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Gerson Mello hit a great ball. Carlos Germano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Arantes in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Granjeiro FC's Dida Branco in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Everest Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Dida Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeca Sampaio in the 57th minute of play forced Everest Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Mello hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 2-2 became the score in the 60th minute when Ernani Novaes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 68th match minute, Everest Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Cearense to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernani Novaes in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Germano saved Everest Futebol Clube from getting behind. Carlos Germano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute, Célio Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 76 minutes on the clock, Gerson Mello commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Everest Futebol Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! In the 81st minute Adalberto Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Ernani Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Granjeiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernani Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedrinho Britto hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Carlos Germano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Marcinho Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dida Branco scored 3-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Germano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Granjeiro FC were the better team. Granjeiro FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
