After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ernani Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granjeiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernani Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fábio Magalhães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rômulo Silveira came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by FURIOSOS's Tony Madureira. But to his dismay, Tony Madureira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Duda Rosa charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duda Rosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Duda Rosa hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Ernani Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sílvio Luís Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FURIOSOS's protests and gave Sílvio Luís Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. Sílvio Luís Rodrigues hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Sílvio Luís Rodrigues lost his temper 42 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 42 minutes into the game, one of FURIOSOS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jailson Massa made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jailson Massa got free with Rômulo Silveira in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The FURIOSOS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Fábio Magalhães should have stopped the shot. Luiz Gustavo Rossi's late challenge caught a Granjeiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Gustavo Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th minute, Luiz Gustavo Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Fábio Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto Lopes in the 71st minute of the match. Luiz Fábio Magalhães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FURIOSOS's Luiz Fábio Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcinho Goiano in the 86th minute of play. Jailson Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Rômulo Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Goiano in the 89th minute of play forced FURIOSOS's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fábio Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Arantes in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Granjeiro FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while FURIOSOS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
