Dagoberto Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Carlos Fernando Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chiquinho Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Fernando Zonta having to interfere. Ciza EC's Luisão Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Ciza EC from getting a goal against them. Luisão Carvalho made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Eliézer Mangueira sent off a good shot on target. After 21 played minutes Ciza EC got a freekick which was hit by Edu Quintal. Eliézer Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luisão Carvalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Vladimir Félix's late challenge caught a Ciza EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir Félix helped the player get up and apologised. After 25 played minutes Colheres got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Félix. Eliézer Mangueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dagoberto Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliézer Mangueira's late challenge caught a Ciza EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliézer Mangueira helped the player get up and apologised. When Edinho de Lara fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colheres's protests and gave Edinho de Lara a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th match minute, Colheres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho de Lara to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute of the match Alfredinho Figueiredo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Fernando Zonta showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Eliézer Mangueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colheres fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Colheres's Duarte Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvinho Lopez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Fernando Zonta having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dagoberto Pontes made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Colheres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredinho Galvão to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Fernando Zonta made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Silvinho Lopez sent off a good shot on target. Luisão Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duarte Pinho in the 55th minute of play. Luisão Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliézer Mangueira's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Remo Pontes hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After 71 played minutes Ciza EC got a freekick which was hit by Chiquinho Mazza. Colheres's Duarte Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duarte Pinho in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luisão Carvalho saved Ciza EC from getting behind. Colheres's Vladimir Félix got his second yellow card of the match in the 81st minute. The referee ordered Vladimir Félix off the ground. The supporters of Ciza EC booed when Colheres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvinho Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. After 93 minutes of play, Colheres's Eliézer Mangueira made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luisão Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Ciza EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Colheres.
