The coaching staff of Horizonte protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Romário Rosado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Horizonte! The referee gave Palmeiras S.E.P a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kléberson Araújo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Horizonte's Clóvis Machado. 5-0. 80 minutes into the game, Palmeiras S.E.P's José Paulo Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
