Dagoberto Pontes started the match with the kick off. Waldemar Xavier hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Luisão Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Marquez in the 9th minute of the match. Faustão Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Carvalho having to interfere. Rômulo Pereira hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Cresciuma EC's Juninho Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Cresciuma EC from getting a goal against them. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 19th minute, but Juninho Cruz got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Cresciuma EC hanging dry this time. The crowd rose to their feet as Ciza EC's Dagoberto Pontes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juninho Cruz. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Luisão Carvalho came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cresciuma EC's Faustão Prado. But to his dismay, Faustão Prado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 26 played minutes Cresciuma EC got a freekick which was hit by Matheus Aparecido. 29 minutes into the game, Wilton Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cresciuma EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ciza EC the free kick. With a little luck, Cresciuma EC's Juninho Cruz got control of the ball when Silvinho Lopez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juninho Cruz was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Chiquinho Mazza capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Chiquinho Mazza really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. If Faustão Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ciza EC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Dagoberto Pontes hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Wilton Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juninho Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Pontes in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Marquez was the one to do the kick off. Luís Fabiano Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match Percy Senna shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juninho Cruz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Juninho Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Pontes in the 56th minute of the match. David Marquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luisão Carvalho having to make a save. 61 minutes into the match, Faustão Prado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luisão Carvalho. Ciza EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Faustão Prado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Cresciuma EC's Juninho Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Pontes in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Quintal in the 67th minute of play forced Cresciuma EC's goalkeeper Juninho Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Faustão Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Ciza EC's goal looked a bit too open when David Marquez came free, but Luisão Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 played minutes Cresciuma EC got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Donato. In the 73rd minute of the match Alfredinho Figueiredo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juninho Cruz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Pontes in the 84th minute of play forced Cresciuma EC's goalkeeper Juninho Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edu Quintal during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ciza EC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Edu Quintal hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Faustão Prado notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Ciza EC's Luisão Carvalho. Luisão Carvalho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cresciuma EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! In the 97th match minute, Cresciuma EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldinho das Neves to maneuver through the defense. Alfredinho Figueiredo's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Juninho Cruz - 5-3 was put on the score board in the 99th minute.
