The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edu Quintal during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gui Joinvilense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Pontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dagoberto Pontes came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Ciza EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagoberto Pontes couldn't finish the play. If Luiz Fabiano Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th match minute, Ciza EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Fabiano Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisão Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Fabiano Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. Luiz Fabiano Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the game, Chiquinho Mazza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
