After 5 played minutes Moema got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Massa. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Secco in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho Cruz saved Cresciuma EC from getting behind. Faustão Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Carvalho having to interfere. Cresciuma EC's Juninho Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo de Souza in the 10th minute of play. Juninho Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. David Marquez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcus Secco hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Faustão Prado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Márcio Carvalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 25 minutes into the game, Cresciuma EC's Faustão Prado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Márcio Carvalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 27th minute, Moema's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after David Marquez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo de Souza in the 31st minute of play forced Cresciuma EC's goalkeeper Juninho Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Márcio Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Marquez in the 34th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Cresciuma EC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo de Souza came free, but Juninho Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Massa in the 37th minute of play forced Cresciuma EC's goalkeeper Juninho Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moema's Márcio Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Moema from getting a goal against them. David Marquez was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. Cresciuma EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. David Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Carvalho having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, Geraldo Massa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moema's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cresciuma EC the free kick. The supporters of Cresciuma EC booed when Moema was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geraldo Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodolfo de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Moema got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Passos. Geraldo Massa kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Rodolfo de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. When Wilton Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cresciuma EC's protests and gave Wilton Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cresciuma EC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. The referee showed Rafael Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Moema's Rafael Passos got a free kick in the 74th minute. A collision led to Cresciuma EC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Waldemar Xavier hit a great ball. After having played for 77 minutes, Raimundo Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Márcio Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustão Prado in the 82nd minute of play. If David Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Faustão Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márcio Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Márcio Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Prado in the 90th minute of the match. Faustão Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cresciuma EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Moema had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
