Nilmar Travassos charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nilmar Travassos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to DUCK getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Nilmar Travassos hit a great ball. Rodolfo de Souza was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. Moema's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo de Souza in the 30th minute of play forced DUCK's goalkeeper Gui Joinvilense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Luiz Fabiano Romero came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the DUCK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fabiano Romero couldn't finish the play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodolfo de Souza to make the kick off. Gui Joinvilense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the DUCK defense, Marcus Secco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gui Joinvilense. The DUCK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gui Joinvilense should have stopped the shot. Faustão Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in DUCK's zone, Rodolfo de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gui Joinvilense came out of the goal and Rodolfo de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched DUCK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
