An unexpectedly hard shot by Remo Coutinho in the 7th minute of play forced Cresciuma EC's goalkeeper Juninho Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Ronaldinho das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Faustão Prado got free with Gui Joinvilense in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gui Joinvilense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Marquez in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute Remo Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in DUCK's zone, David Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gui Joinvilense came out of the goal and David Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cresciuma EC's Faustão Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. DUCK's Remo Coutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Faustão Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, David Marquez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gui Joinvilense, 1-0. Cresciuma EC's David Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 minutes, Andrézinho Guedes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DUCK and the Cresciuma EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andrézinho Guedes hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute Remo Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Remo Coutinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Faustão Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remo Coutinho hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Gui Joinvilense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustão Prado in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Manoel Freire ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juninho Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Juninho Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Coutinho in the 71st minute of the match. When Faustão Prado came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Cresciuma EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustão Prado couldn't finish the play. David Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Gui Joinvilense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 79 played minutes DUCK got a freekick which was hit by Remo Coutinho. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Remo Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. DUCK's supporters rose to their feet, but Remo Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilton Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The supporters of DUCK booed when Cresciuma EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cresciuma EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while DUCK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
