Yan Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yan Simão having to interfere. In the 25th minute, David Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yan Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Marquez in the 27th minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, David Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cresciuma EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If César Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Yan Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yan Simão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustão Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. David Marquez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yan Simão. Real Madrid's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Yan Simão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustão Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, Cresciuma EC's Didi Perez got a free kick in the 44th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Sérgio Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Marquez to make the kick off. Cresciuma EC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Marquez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yan Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cresciuma EC's Juninho Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Paulo da Silveira in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute David Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yan Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 minutes, Gugu Carvalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Madrid and the Cresciuma EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cresciuma EC booed when Real Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Cresciuma EC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo da Silveira came free, but Juninho Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Real Madrid booed when Cresciuma EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Paulo da Silveira in the 95th minute of play forced Cresciuma EC's goalkeeper Juninho Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Cresciuma EC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
