The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antônio Carlos de Senna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Peixoto's zone, Humberto Vidal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinho Vinhas came out of the goal and Humberto Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinho Vinhas came out of the goal and Aírton Corrêa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Graminea made a substitution. Eduardo Porto replaced Humberto Vidal. 68 minutes into the game, Caetano da Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
