When Christian Dias fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 19th minute, Sidney Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Apinage SC's zone, João Francisco Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard de Mendonça came out of the goal and João Francisco Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the game, João Francisco Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Richard de Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. João Francisco Brito struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Richard de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Alves in the 40th minute of the match. Enéas Guerra hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

If Leonel Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Apinage SC booed when Team Aqua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enéas Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball.
