The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute of the match Cauan Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Richard de Mendonça showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 6 played minutes, Athletico Paranauense's Hamílton Soares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Richard de Mendonça came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Athletico Paranauense reached it. Diego Martins's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Carlos Alberto Peres firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 12 played minutes Apinage SC got a freekick which was hit by Diego Martins. Diego Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diego Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Diego Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Hamílton Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Caio Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Caio Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cláudio Mazza hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Caio Valadares to strike the kick off in the second half. Caio Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kaká Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Carlos Alberto Peres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Apinage SC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Cauã Alcântara hit a great ball. If Gilberto Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 played minutes Caio Valadares rounded Apinage SC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Richard de Mendonça was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cauan Azevedo. Hamílton Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Richard de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Caio Valadares came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Athletico Paranauense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caio Valadares couldn't finish the play. Apinage SC's Richard de Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Apinage SC from getting a goal against them. When Giovani Lira fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apinage SC's protests and gave Giovani Lira a yellow card for diving instead. Giovani Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Caio Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caio Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Athletico Paranauense's Carlos Alberto Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Maranhense in the 92nd minute of play. Christian Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Carlos Alberto Peres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Athletico Paranauense's Fabiano Pombal got a free kick in the 94th minute. After 96 played minutes Athletico Paranauense got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Pombal. Athletico Paranauense's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
