In the 11th minute Tiago Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adilson Recife in the 12th minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica AF's goalkeeper Abu Gosoc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abu Gosoc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juarês Coelho in the 16th minute. The supporters of Laranja Mecânica AF booed when Valqueire Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adilson Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Tiago Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zeca Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34 played minutes Valqueire Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Leite. Beto Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Zeca Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natã Messias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zeca Senna having to make a save. Tomé Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Zeca Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudinho de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adilson Recife to make the kick off. If Tiago Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natã Messias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laranja Mecânica AF's Natã Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiago Freire might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeca Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiago Freire ran back to his position shaking his head. 69 minutes into the match, Valqueire Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Cabral came free, but Zeca Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valqueire Futebol Clube's Adilson Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute Juarês Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abu Gosoc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abu Gosoc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juarês Coelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Laranja Mecânica AF defense, Adilson Recife kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abu Gosoc. The Laranja Mecânica AF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abu Gosoc should have stopped the shot. Cido Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Zeca Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Beto Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gino Abraão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Abu Gosoc. Laranja Mecânica AF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Laranja Mecânica AF were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
