The crowd rose to their feet as Finus F.C.'s Júnior Corrêa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zeca Senna. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. Juarês Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogério Leite's late challenge caught a Finus F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valqueire Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Zeca Senna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute Samuel Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
