The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nelsinho Saraiva the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Valqueire Futebol Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nelsinho Saraiva had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 35 minutes into the match, Valqueire Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Zeca Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernani Félix. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Ernani Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laranja Mecânica AF's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernani Félix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeca Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Valqueire Futebol Clube's Gino Abraão got a free kick in the 94th minute. The audience was convinced that Ernani Félix's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeca Senna was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Laranja Mecânica AF walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
