After 8 minutes, Amílton Paes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraná Clube and the Manguenza players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Paraná Clube's Amílton Paes got a free kick in the 8th minute. Manguenza's Carlos Eduardo Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Paraná Clube fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Paraná Clube's Dieguinho de Azevedo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 20 minutes into the game, Dadá Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manguenza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraná Clube the free kick. The supporters of Paraná Clube booed when Manguenza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dadá Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manguenza's Fintan Drible got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Eduardo Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Munhoz having to interfere. Tião de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. A throw-in in the 44th minute of the game was made by Osvaldo Tasso with Elivélton Fernandes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Manuel Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Eduardo Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Eduardo Fontes made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Stephan Pinnerup dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Manuel Munhoz, 1-1. Stephan Pinnerup struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Manuel Munhoz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manguenza. In the 58th match minute, Manguenza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Tande to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Paraná Clube's Manuel Munhoz got control of the ball when Carlos Eduardo Fontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manuel Munhoz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stephan Pinnerup went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Carlos Eduardo Fontess short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Manuel Munhoz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 70th minute, Sandrinho Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Manguenza booed when Paraná Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fintan Drible's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Manuel Munhoz - 1-3 was put on the score board in the 81st minute. In the 86th minute, Amílton Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stephan Pinnerup took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel Munhoz. Manuel Munhoz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Manuel Munhoz made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Carlos Eduardo Fontes sent off a good shot on target. After 94 played minutes Paraná Clube got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Martins. Manguenza played a much better game than Paraná Clube and deserved their victory. The Paraná Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
