Laércio Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Maranhense went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After recieving a nice pass, Electric Warriors's José Paulo Meirelles tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Laércio Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antônio Vargas went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Laércio Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Macaé FC defense, Antônio Vargas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laércio Montenegro. The Macaé FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laércio Montenegro should have stopped the shot. Antônio Vargas scored 0-5 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Laércio Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 25 played minutes Macaé FC got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Salles. In the 25th minute Anselmo Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes Macaé FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was José Paulo Meirelles who took care of the corner kick. Laércio Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Vargas in the 32nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Anselmo Maranhense put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Laércio Montenegro. After 37 minutes of play, Electric Warriors's Antônio Vargas made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laércio Montenegro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Laércio Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Maranhense in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Antônio Vargas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Electric Warriors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. Fernando Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio Montenegro having to interfere. Laércio Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Maranhense in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antônio Vargas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laércio Montenegro was a little too slow when 姜军彬 got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-9. In the 55th minute, Fernando Aguiar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laércio Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-10. Anselmo Maranhense's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Laércio Montenegro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Macaé FC's Laércio Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Aguiar in the 84th minute of play. Reginaldo Godoi struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Jonathan Bittencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macaé FC. With a little luck, Macaé FC's Laércio Montenegro got control of the ball when Anselmo Maranhense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Laércio Montenegro made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when 姜军彬 sent off a good shot on target.
