Rubens Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Adolfo Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sacit Lütufkâr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Ferraz having to interfere. If Cacá Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cacá Damião could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Anıl Ege Akşin made a huge save. Anıl Ege Akşin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cacá Damião in the 28th minute of play. If João Adolfo Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Pombal fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 34th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. After 36 played minutes Paulo Renato Prado rounded FLAMENGO's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Cacá Damião scored 2-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anıl Ege Akşin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Pedro Brito to strike the kick off in the second half. Trahira's Rubens Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Brito in the 53rd minute of play. Tião Tinoco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rubens Ferraz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. FLAMENGO's Sacit Lütufkâr got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sacit Lütufkâr came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the FLAMENGO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sacit Lütufkâr couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Trahira's Rubens Ferraz got control of the ball when João Adolfo Severo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Paulo Renato Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trahira's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Renato Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anıl Ege Akşin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Tião Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rubens Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sacit Lütufkâr, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. A collision led to Trahira getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Oséias Mandrak hit a great ball. Anıl Ege Akşin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cacá Damião in the 83rd minute of play. If Zé Pedro Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 92 minutes into the match, Trahira's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Brito came free, but Rubens Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
