Newtown EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cocau Brasilia FC o o the free kick. Jefferson Amorim hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Renato Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cocau Brasilia FC o o's zone, Aloísio Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manoel Souza came out of the goal and Aloísio Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caco Penha's late challenge caught a Newtown EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caco Penha helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cocau Brasilia FC o o's Caco Penha got a free kick in the 13th minute. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Denílson Sampaio sped through Cocau Brasilia FC o o's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Manoel Souza. When Newtown EC's Denílson Sampaio in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cocau Brasilia FC o o's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cocau Brasilia FC o o's zone, Ramón Prata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manoel Souza came out of the goal and Ramón Prata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Denílson Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Manoel Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denílson Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pedro Paulo Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Ramón Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manoel Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloísio Pombal scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manoel Souza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the match, Elói Schmidt notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Cocau Brasilia FC o o's Manoel Souza. Manoel Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Leopoldo Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Coutinho in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Newtown EC got a freekick which was hit by Denílson Sampaio. 57 minutes into the game, Denílson Sampaio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manoel Souza. Denílson Sampaio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. If Pedro Paulo Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Newtown EC got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson Amorim. Manoel Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denílson Sampaio in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Denílson Sampaio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manoel Souza. Denílson Sampaio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Manoel Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denílson Sampaio in the 70th minute. Cocau Brasilia FC o o's Manoel Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Prata in the 75th minute of play. After 75 played minutes Cocau Brasilia FC o o got a freekick which was hit by Caco Penha. In the 79th minute, Dino Aparecido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Newtown EC's Vitório Gonçalves got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Manoel Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cláudio Barros in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Ramón Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manoel Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Newtown EC played a much better game than Cocau Brasilia FC o o and deserved their victory. The Cocau Brasilia FC o o players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
