But to his dismay, Antônio Vargas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Antônio Vargas came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Electric Warriors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Vargas couldn't finish the play. If Antônio Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Augusto de Brito came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Electric Warriors's Antônio Vargas. But to his dismay, Antônio Vargas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Zé Augusto de Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Maranhense in the 16th minute of the match. Zé Augusto de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Vargas in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute Antônio Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th match minute, EC Bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vânderson Porto to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the game, Electric Warriors's Anselmo Maranhense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Augusto de Brito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Antônio Vargas struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Zé Augusto de Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Electric Warriors. 32 minutes into the game, Anselmo Maranhense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Zé Augusto de Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Anselmo Maranhense put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Zé Augusto de Brito. After a defensive mix-up in EC Bahia's zone, Anselmo Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto de Brito came out of the goal and Anselmo Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antônio Vargas might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Augusto de Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antônio Vargas ran back to his position shaking his head. After 45 played minutes EC Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Vânderson Porto. A collision led to EC Bahia getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Bernardinho Couto hit a great ball. The EC Bahia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Electric Warriors were winning 0-6.

Antônio Vargas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zé Augusto de Brito came out and tried to block the shot, but Antônio Vargas slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 52nd minute. 59 minutes into the game, Antônio Vargas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Zé Augusto de Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 62 played minutes Electric Warriors's Anselmo Maranhense stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Zé Augusto de Brito stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing EC Bahia of the goal. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Anselmo Maranhense put it in 0-9 from a short distance just to the right of Zé Augusto de Brito. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for EC Bahia! The referee gave Electric Warriors a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José Paulo Meirelles, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of EC Bahia's Zé Augusto de Brito. 0-10. Zé Augusto de Brito was a little too slow when Antônio Vargas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 0-11. 80 minutes into the match, José Paulo Meirelles sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Zé Augusto de Brito threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for José Paulo Meirelles this time. Zé Augusto de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Anselmo Maranhense succeeded in the game's 85th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-12. A collision led to EC Bahia getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Vânderson Porto hit a great ball. Zé Augusto de Brito was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Antônio Vargas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Antônio Vargas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-13. After 98th play minutes Anselmo Maranhense shot 0-14, a short shot which went by Zé Augusto de Brito and just under the crossbar into goal. Electric Warriors played a much better game than EC Bahia and deserved their victory. The EC Bahia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
